Poems - first walks 2015

September 28, 2017

Early in 2015 I had a life changing experience. When I was able to walk outside for the first time that Spring, the beauty of it inspired me to write for the first time in several years. A sample...

March and the lion
Huge flakes of snow on spring grass
Change of the season

Kicking and screaming
Suddenly dragged into spring
Forced to grow and change

Leo's baby Rose
Melted her father's dear heart
And her mother's too.

Tapping into life
Creativity nurtured
Front page lion cub

Undecided day
Snowflakes swirl like May blossoms
Freshest walk this Spring

Says I can't do some things. but
Some I do better

Iambic, sonnets
Metered words enjammed in verse
It's poetry month

Dead poets speaking
Horrors, love verse and the Bard
Come, write a poem

You sycophantic
Clinging, hanger on I can't
Bear to live without.

Woman feeling old
Bearing up always alone
Inside still a girl.

Girl wrapped up warmly
Bouncing her ball up the hill
Wishing to grow up.

hawk circles over my head
Message of power

Green car, blue car, red

I walk in the road instead
Looking straight ahead
